Why it works

The story earns New Capability as its primary type because the before-state was genuinely impossible, not just slow: firewall-separated Jira Server instances meant teams from the two companies could not share a ticket or page at all. The 100+ hours saved is a real secondary win but the lead is the unlocked collaboration. The mechanism is specific enough to follow: pre-migration app audit, partner-led cleanup, native cloud features replacing third-party apps, and a single-weekend cutover after six months of preparation.

Steal this

The app-audit angle is worth copying. Showing that 20% of third-party apps were retired because native cloud features covered them reframes migration cost as net savings and removes a common objection before the reader raises it.
