The election-day attack is a concrete, time-bound trigger that grounds the whole story and makes the before-state credible. The WAF quote, 'We've been hit by quite large attacks and we didn't even notice because they were blocked,' is specific enough to carry real weight without needing a hard number. The story also earns a secondary New Capability tag because the Rust-based Jinja edge compute solution genuinely replaced something that did not exist in their stack before, though that thread is less developed than the security arc.
Anchor the trigger to a named public event (a national election) rather than a vague 'we were growing fast' setup. It makes the before-state immediately credible to any reader and removes the need for extensive scene-setting.
