The story is built around a single vivid contrast: 500 emails a day, two to four worth reading. That ratio does all the heavy lifting and makes the time saved feel inevitable rather than claimed. The 'still six' result is a quiet but effective move, it shows that the efficiency gain had real business consequences for a bootstrapped team without needing to invent a dramatic before/after arc.
Anchor the before-state on a ratio, not a raw number. '500 emails, 2–4 real' is more convincing than '500 emails wasted our time' because the ratio proves the problem without requiring the reader to take anything on faith.
