The story earns the Clarity tag because the core before-state is not knowing: leadership asked a simple question and got stale Jira boards and improvised spreadsheets. The competitive switch from Jira is explicit and named. The secondary New Capability tag fits because Opendoor is standing up a structured product operating model that did not exist before, modeled on Shopify's internal Vault tool, which would previously have required a dedicated engineering team to build.
Anchor the case study in a concrete moment of failure: leadership asks a basic question and no one can answer it. That single scene makes the before-state visceral without needing a metric.
