The story works because it uses a candid, named operator voice to frame a real operational pain: email-based number requests that took days. The reliability angle adds a second layer, showing that carrier uptime is existential for a hosted PBX reseller. However, Black explicitly says he has no hard percentage or customer count to offer, which leaves the story without a verifiable outcome number and limits its persuasive punch.
Let the customer admit there is no hard metric, then have them explain why the soft gain still has a dollar value. It reads as honest rather than evasive and preserves credibility.
