The story earns its New Capability tag because HP's BI team previously owned all analysis and distributed it via Excel and PowerPoint, meaning business users had no independent analytics motion at all. ThoughtSpot and Snowflake together created that motion from scratch, which is a genuine net-new capability rather than a speed improvement on an existing one. The secondary Efficiency tag is valid but subordinate: the data refresh dropping from 24-48 hours to under 24 hours is real, but the headline transformation is democratized self-service, not cost savings.
The case study uses a single named executive quote to explain the integration mechanism ('Embrace is a game changer. Whatever data my team loads into Snowflake becomes instantly available in ThoughtSpot') — this is a concrete, information-carrying quote that doubles as a product explanation, a technique worth replicating to avoid generic 'we are thrilled' filler.
